Man Coverage
Pros:
•Usually played a pretty soft form of man coverage, which allowed him to mirror receivers and didn’t get lost off the line
•When allowed to jam, was very physical and threw a violent punch
•Would bully receivers to the sideline at times
•Could stay in phase in vertical routes, would like to see him squeeze to the sideline more
•Would be pretty sticky during the route stem if he got hands on out of press
Cons:
•Not physical in off man and didn’t get hands on when receiver got to him
•Pretty stiff and upright backpedal sometimes
•Would easily give up and expose his blind spot at times
•Would also open his gate a tad early in off man
•Can miss his punch and lose the rep on the spot
•Fell for a couple of fakes and trick plays and needs to stay disciplined
Zone Coverage
Pros:
•Good short play recognition out of zone coverage
•Comes downhill very quickly and got a few good pass deflections
•Not indecisive at all and knows what routes to take
•Good field awareness in the red zone in knowing where receivers are, even when they are behind him
Cons:
•Didn’t communicate very well with other DBs
Hand Usage
Pros:
•Very violent jams when given the opportunity
Cons:
•Will overcommit to getting the hands on and just lose reps
•Doesn’t move his feet when pressing and just lunges at the receiver
Ball Skills
Pros:
•Lead the team in pass breakups
•Can play through the hands very well
•Does a good job of getting his head around and not getting penalties
Cons:
•Needs to work on ball tracking and playing the ball at the catch point
•0 picks
Athleticism / Frame
Pros:
•Good speed and acceleration to not get burned consistently
•Flashed decent play stray at times and was able to jam some receivers quite well
Cons:
•Undersized in both height and weight
•Struggled to size up at the catch point due to size
Agility / Recovery Speed
Pros:
•Good burst coming downhill, especially in off coverage
Cons:
•Lacks good hip fluidity coming from a backpedal and when changing direction
•Wasn’t able to make up ground when beaten in man coverage, especially off the line
Tackling / Physicality
Pros:
•Very willing tackler and hitter
•Goes low to ankle bite running backs
Cons:
•Does take a pretty significant punishment due to tackling style
•Not able to truly shed off blocks
Versatility
Pros:
•Previously played safety but never started there
•Has limited experience in slot/in the box alignments
Cons:
•Specialized mainly at one position

Ideal Situation
•Ahmari Harvey led his team in pbus last season at Georgia Tech, and that wasn’t by accident. His closing speed and off-coverage play recognition are great qualities, and he consistently broke up passes. His physicality is the biggest question mark because when he uses it, it can be pretty effective, and he’s pretty stuck to route stems when he does, but doesn’t pull it out that often and usually prefers to be more patient and mirror the receivers' movements. He has pretty good awareness in zone coverage, but does need to watch out for trick plays because his ability to fly downhill can bite him sometimes. He is also quite stiff in his backpedal and lacks great change of direction. He can also give up his blind spot by turning and running directly back, rather than keeping his shoulders and hips turned toward the sideline as he runs with the receiver. He went undrafted and was later picked up by the Steelers; this is a B grade. While he is currently on the depth chart, making the roster could be a struggle, and he will likely remain on the practice squad. He isn’t big enough to be a true outside corner, and if he does get on the field, he will most likely stick to the slot.
