Footwork
Pros:
•Has a good kick slide in pass coverage when uncovered
•Keeps his feet underneath him on guard pulls and is very effective
Cons:
•Feet get off balance at times
•Lateral quickness limits his footwork
•Can get set up by good rushers leaving lanes to the QB
Hand Usage
Pros:
•Individual hand skill is impressive
•Really solid initial punch
•Has knockback ability
•Good grip strength
Cons:
•Can struggle to counter chop down moves or effectively use an arm bar
•Shows his hands too early which results in chopdown and rip move
•Arm bar is just lackluster

Cons:

•Too many false starts
•Tends to struggle with delayed blitzes in run blocking
•Mistimes how long to hold his combo blocks and is often too late to get to the second level
Games Watched:
•Week 2 vs BCU, Week 5 vs FSU, Week 7 vs STAN Week 11 vs VT, CFP vs TA&M, CFP vs MISS
Ideal Situation:
•Anez Cooper is a very solid guard, and I think he was a really good pick for the New York Jets. Cooper has starting upside down due to his size and impressive arm length. Cooper’s ceiling is strongly limited by his athleticism and flexibility, both of which are underwhelming. I think that the Jets should give him some opportunities this season, as I don’t think they will be actively trying to even win games. Cooper absorbs contact well, is solid in the run game, and doesn’t necessarily do anything bad. Overall, I think it was a good pick, and his floor is decent. If he doesn’t pan out, he offers versatility as a potential tackle because of his size and is just a solid depth piece to any o-line group.
