Man Coverage
Pros:
•Can mirror receivers release decently well
•Predicts a receiver's route while trailing to cut off the window
•Doesn’t fall for stutters in a receiver's route
•Gets his head around as soon as he is in phase with the receiver
•Stacks receivers into the sideline without them realizing
•Best in soft press
•Was trusted in backside man on an island
•While a speed turn can be questionable, he is really good at executing it and recovering
•Pretty consistently can stay in phase
Cons:
•Press release isn’t as physical as you would like
•Susceptible to late comebacks and in-breaking routes
•He’s a very patient corner, so he is more susceptible to speed releases, one-cut releases, or one-cut breaks
•Flips his hips too early, which results in him having to make a speed turn, which could open big blindspots in the NFL
Zone Coverage
Pros:
•Reacts to the ball extremely quickly
•Reads the QB's eyes well
•Passes along routes well and communicates
•Will still stick to the in-breaking route when he doesn’t have a deep responsibility
•Gets eyes around to see the ball/QB quickly
•Never saw him get beaten deep in the games I watched
Cons:
•Can kinda just drift off in space
•Flips his hips too early in deep cover 3 or cover 4, leaving the comeback route completely open
•Route recognition isn’t there
•Tends to guard grass rather than a guy entering or near his zone
Hand Usage
Pros:
•Keeps his hands on the receiver's hips pretty consistently
•Reroutes receivers with his hands
•Constantly replacing hands if they smacked while in route
Cons:
•His jams aren’t as violent or jarring as they could be
•Catches with his hands too much on the top of routes, which opens up some separation for the receiver
•Simply just not physical enough for me on the LOS
•Needs to be more physical at the top of routes
Ball Skills
Pros:
•Finishes plays well
•Attacks the ball at the highest point and has good hands to pair with it
•Solid timing at the catch point
•Ball tracking skills to intercept deflected passes
•Almost boxes out receivers like an NBA center
Cons:
•Still wouldn’t quite say he finishes plays at an elite level
Athleticism / Frame
Pros:
•8.54 RAS Score
•Pretty average arm length
•Really tall
•Good weight and overall frame
•Smooth back peddle
Cons:
•Not the most explosive
•34.5 vertical is meh
•4.50 40 is pretty average
Agility / Recovery Speed
Pros:
•His burst upfield on bicycle steps is impressive
•Very quick and fluid mover
•Good recovery speed
•Really good pursuit speed on chasedown plays
Cons:
•Delayed reactions when under pressure
•He can get burned deep by true speedsters
•Plays too high
•Hip movement is very inconsistent, some plays it is smooth others it's choppy, and too many wasted steps
Tackling / Physicality
Pros:
•Rips at the ball
•Can meet running backs in the hole
•Has good pad level/tackling height
•Sweeps out legs well with his shoulder or arm well
•Finishes with swagger and physicality on occasion
•Keeps his outside contain very consistently
•Simply throws his body to try to clip ankles
Cons:
•Lacks the technique and physicality to shed blocks
•Susceptible to shock blocks off the LOS
•Doesn’t make an effort to get to the ball carrier and make a play
•Normally hangs back and lets others finish the job
•Pad level can get high when he waits too long to attack the ball carrier, which leads to him having to absorb the hit
•Not a consistent technique-sound tackler
•There is a timidness to him when it comes to getting off a block and making an open-field tackle
Versatility
Pros:
•Can line up in the slot and outside
Cons:
•Not gonna be a slot guy at the next level
•Got taken out pretty often in redzone sets

Ideal Situation:
•Devin Moore definitely has the ideal corner build. Standing at over 6’3” and 198 lbs, he is NFL-ready from day one in terms of size alone. Devin Moore displayed plenty of nuanced skills and raw ability to be an NFL corner. Moore in man coverage pretty consistently stayed in phase. The sideline was a big friend for Moore, who regularly used it on receivers releasing to the outside; he did a great job stacking them. Moore does a good job keeping his hands on the receiver's hips and hitting them with jabs off the LOS to try to slow them down. He has relatively average athleticism, running a 4.5 40 time. Moore used his frame to his advantage when attacking the ball. He consistently attacked the ball at the highest point, broke up passes, and displayed good ball-tracking skills to pick off passes. Moore displayed decent physicality at times and can make a tackle somewhat consistently. He also routinely ripped and punched at the ball when an opportunity arose. In zone coverage, he communicated well to pass along routes. I never saw Moore give up a catch deep, which all coaches can appreciate. Moore definitely has some traits and habits that hold him back, though. I personally would’ve liked to see more physicality off the LOS. Moore could’ve predicted routes better at times, and he will need to improve on that at the next level. Moore’s zone coverage was slightly underwhelming, as I saw him guarding grass rather than picking up someone in his zone or near it. Moore can struggle to flip his hips at times, which led to him getting burnt deep, although teams never seemed to exploit that. His 4.50 speed shows at times against true speedsters who can take the top off. He found himself regularly trailing a little too much. Some scouting sites and reports have raved about his tackling, but I never really saw that, except a few times. While he does a really good job keeping his outside contain, I wish he had sought contact more. I almost saw a hint of timidity in him when it came to making a play in space. He would normally just let a chasing LB or SAF make the play. Moore played at slot every now and then, but I don’t see him ever doing that, given how below-average his block-shedding skills were, and I don’t think he could handle twitchier slot guys. Moore has a lengthy injury history. He played in 5 games his freshman season before injuring his shoulder. In his sophomore season, he missed 5 games with a concussion and back issues, injured his shoulder again in his junior season, and got hurt early in a game against Mississippi State in 2025. Moore was selected in the 4th round, 114th overall, by the Dallas Cowboys. Moore projects as the CB2 on the Cowboys. I think Moore has the raw size and talent to be a potential fringe Pro Bowl player; he just needs to develop in a few areas. Hopefully, the Cowboys can tap into his full potential, which they have failed to do in recent seasons with their secondary and defense.
