Full Scouting Report

Vision / Instincts
Pros:
•Really good job at following his blocks/lead blocker especially in zone run schemes
•If there isn’t a present hole he can redirect to find a new lane
•When there is no available wide open lanes he can nestle into the line and fight for short yardage
•Sees lane, picks lane, and explodes through
•Flashes second level manipulation
•Good in zone and gap run schemes, probably a little better in gap run schemes, but he is good in both
Cons:
•Tries to hurdle too much it can lead to more injuries or fumbles
•Can run parallel on the LOS or in space for too long searching for a lane to the sideline
•Can cut back for no reason and run into defenders
•Jumps for no reason at times
•Can miss open lane
•This is gonna sound insane but he honestly should change helmets because he is going to have to sit out a play everytime it comes off and it comes off a lot
Burst / Acceleration / Agility
Pros:
•Great acceleration and agility
•Very strong ability to string cuts together
•Quick and fluid feet
•Gets up field very fast on on his cuts
•Sets up his juke moves well
•Elite explosiveness
•Uses spins well to slip off tackles or juke defenders
•Above average elusiveness
•Good twitch
•Good COD
•Uses jump cuts very well
Cons:
•Juking ability isn’t elite but still solid
•Requires multiple stutter steps to come to a complete stop
•Hips are a little slow
Straight-Line Speed
Pros:
•Pretty elite breakaway speed
•Consistently gets breakaway runs
Cons:
•None
Physicality / Contact Balance
Pros:
•Seeks out contact
•Fights for extremely hard for extra yards and falls forward when he is going down
•Stumbles forward and will get an extra 5-10 yards
•Will use his hands and anything he can stay upright and keep running
•Elite contact balance
•Can shield his body to bounce off ankle hits and shoulder checks
•Slips ankle tackles
•Great leg drive
Cons:
•Can struggle to stay up once he is wrapped around the waste or legs
•Struggles to break tackles from bigger defenders especially DL
Athleticism / Frame
Pros:
•Strong built frame
•Very athletic (he can hurdle)
•Very good ankle flexion and balance on the sideline
•Was a decorated track athlete
•Can jump up over obstacles or ankle tackles and remain on balance
•Runs on his toes
Cons:
•Doesn’t have elite but still very good straight line speed
•Leaner build could stop him from being a full time RB1
Ball Security
Pros:
•Only had 1 fumble on 199 carries
•Holds ball close to the chest and tight
Cons:
•None
Receiving Ability
Pros:
•Very solid route running ability
•Got split out wide in the slot every now and then
•Gets out of his breaks very well
•Sets his cuts up well by changing pace and speed
•Very good after the catch
•Really good hands and consistently catches with them and not his body
•Changes pace well on his routes
•Uses his hands to create separation
Cons:
•Isn’t aggressive at the catch point
•Doesn’t do a good job making himself available or scrambling to find an opening when his QB is under pressure
•Didn’t run the most diverse route tree at least out of the backfield he didn’t
•Needs to stop going up with one hand he did make an insane catch against TA&M, but it can lead to - interceptions if that gets tipped up
•Lack of focus drop rarely
Pass Protection
Pros:
•Makes very good chip blocks when he lands them and can take a DE entirely out of the play
•Solid awareness and keep his head on swivel
•Good effort on pass protection
•Willing to block and a good blocker in QB dives and sneaks
•Hands shoot out with a good base to easily discard of free blitzers
•Reads his OL well and the matchups to quickly decipher and decide who to help or pick up
Cons:
•Occasionally misses his chip or barely gets him
•Could position himself a little better to not give up an angle
•Tends to just really aggressively shove with his hands rather than locking his grip and driving the defender away
•Because he doesn’t lock his grip if the QB moves at all he often gives up a sack
Games Watched
•Week 1 vs MIA, Week 2 vs TA&M, Week 3 vs PUR, Week 4 vs ARK, Week 7 vs USC, Week 8 vs BC, Week 9 vs SYR, Week 10 vs STAN
Ideal Situation:
•Jeremiyah Love could fit in any system and on any team. However, he does fit better with certain teams. Love is a great athlete and is guaranteed to break at least 1 tacklet on almost every carry. Love fits best with the Arizona Cardinals, Tennessee Titans, Washington Commanders, and Kansas City Chiefs. Love is a franchise RB; however, he will likely need to bulk up to handle a full bellcow role, as he is a little thin. Love can fit into any system and is a franchise-changing player if he's put in the right place.
