Frame
Pros:
•32” arm length as a center is ok but not ideal
Cons:
•6’1” is relatively undersized even as a center
•289 is incredibly light he will need to add weight
Athleticism
Pros:
•Moves extremely well
•Can get out on swings and pulls and lay an effective block
•Explosiveness is elite
•4.95 40-time and overall speed is elite
•Keeps up with secondary players and can still put a body on them
Cons:
•None
Footwork
Pros:
•Gets his base set early and efficiently
•Elite balance
•Mirrors well when needed
•Feet are always moving
•Displays impressive footwork to get to defenders immediately post-snap
Cons:
•None that I can see on film
Hand Usage
Pros:
•Good hand placement and grip
•Really good initial punch to try to knockback defenders
•Displays independent hand movement
Cons:
•Doesn’t possess much of an arm bar for getting split in combo blocks and in pass protection
Strength / Anchor
Pros:
•Can hold his own against bigger defenders
•Seals/hooks off defenders well
•Anchors down decently well for his size
•Does a really good job getting under the pads and outleveraging bigger defenders
Cons:
•Gets driven back more than you would like
•If he gets beat the spot, he can struggle to wash that defender out because of his lack of size
•Gets knocked back more than you would like
•Can get stood up and struggle to drive his feet against bigger defenders
•Against really good interior defenders, his pad level gets too high, and they out-leverage him with their low pad level
Physicality
Pros:
•Really gritty physical guy
•Doesn’t let his size dictate his playstyle; he will punch you in the mouth
•Plays to the whistle and past the whistle
•Loves to go out and lay a block on a second or third-level defenders
Cons:
•None
Processing / Game IQ
Pros:
•Leader at the line of scrimmage
•Calls out defenders
•Eyes are always moving around for more assignments or to help teammates
•Always aware of possible delayed blitzes
•Timing on RB screens and WR screens is really good
•Attempts to carry his ball carriers forward when they are about to fall or stumble
Cons:
•Eyes sometimes stay on someone for a little too long, opening blind spots for IDL or stunting edges
•Overpursues some blocks, which makes it easy to get past him
•Can get fooled by a good stunt
•Been instances where he leaves his initial assignment early to advance to the second level
Snap / Exchange
Pros:
•Experience snapping under center
•None of his snaps were egregiously bad or too hard to handle for the QB
Cons:
•From memory, I think there were two snaps in his career that went over the QB’s head
Games Watched:
•Week 1 vs FSU, Week 2 vs ULM, Week 5 vs VAN, Week 7 vs TENN, Week 8 vs SC, Week 12 vs UGA, CFP vs OU
Ideal Situation:
•Parker Brailsford is one of my favorite players in this draft. Brailsford is a gritty player with a bulldog mentality who doesn’t let people push him around. I love his physicality and athleticism in getting to second-level defenders on pulls and counters. Brailsford’s balance is impressive as well. Brailsford’s biggest concerns are regarding his frame, game IQ, and snap. In all the games I watched, there were no problems with bad snaps, but I am pretty sure there was one instance last year against Michigan when Jalen Milroe dropped a snap in the rain. From what I can tell, that was the weather and Milroe’s fault more than Brailsford's. Brailsford can be a little late to see stunts and, on occasion, can get too locked onto one side of the line. His timing moving to the second level can also be a little off sometimes. Brailsford will likely not start in the 2026 or 2027 seasons, as Elgton Jenkins (30) is currently leading that role. Elgton Jenkins is an unrestricted free agent in 2028, which is when I could see Brailsford taking over. Brailsford lacks positional versatility due to his size and will likely need to add as much weight as possible to his frame without losing speed. A reason he might not have been drafted as high is that he had a severe high ankle sprain in November, following the Oklahoma game. However, that doesn’t warrant him falling to the 5th round in my opinion. I think this was a great pick by the Cleveland Browns, and they could’ve unlocked a possible diamond in the rough.
