Processing / Game IQ
Pros:
•Experience under center
•Has good play fakes and pulls
•Shown flashes of throwing with anticipation
•Makes good reads on his read options
•Shown flashes of second-level eye manipulation
•Does a solid job getting through his progressions
•Pre-snap reads seem to be relatively ok
Cons:
•Would like to see his timing get better
•Could process and get through progressions quicker
•Doesn’t read defenders very well, which leads to ill-advised throws
•Can get baited into throws by defenders
•Could improve his identification of blitzes
•Would like to see third-level eye manipulation and becoming better at not staring down reads downfield
•Post snap reads seem to be inconsistent
•Can try to do too much in the redzone which leads to turnovers
•Sometimes just needs to take the easy underneath throw
Accuracy & Ball Placement
Pros:
•Shown flashes of ball placement away from defenders
•Remains relatively accurate at all levels of the field
•Shown flashes of layered throws ability
•Has shown flashes of tremendous touch
Cons:
•Struggles to remain accurate when off balance and without his feet set
•Would like to see his overall ball placement improve as he still throws his receivers into defenders often
•Sometimes struggles with the touch pass and lowering his velocity
Improvisation / Play Extension
Pros:
•Very good scrambling abilities on rollouts
•Can outrun d-linemen and bend the edge with ease
•Handles free rushers well and can get out of the pocket
•Keeps his eyes downfield when pressure is there
•Does a good job protecting himself on designed runs and scrambles
•Can make creative plays outside the pocket and off-script
•Doesn’t over-scramble and he does a good job taking what the defense gives him
Cons:
•Accuracy isn’t the greatest on the run but still solid
•Runs himself into sacks on occasion
Arm Talent (Strength + Angles)
Pros:
•Effortless zip on the ball
•Has the arm strength to make any throw on the field easily
•Loses no zip throwing throwing off balance
•Has the talent to fit the ball in very tight windows
•The ball jumps out of his hands
Cons:
•He has great arm talent but that sometimes is his enemy and leads to turnovers and dangerous throws
•Thinks he can squeeze into every tight window which causes unnecessary incompletions or turnovers
Athleticism / Mobility / Frame
Pros:
•Ideal QB frame
•Can easily run designed runs and QB dives
•Long strides that has breakaway potential
•Has enough side-to-side speed to make defenders miss in space
•Can outrun secondary players
•Has the strength and frame to break tackles
•Ran a 4.36 40 time
Cons:
•Isn’t super elusive
Mechanics / Footwork
Pros:
•Clean arm release
•Gets good hip activation on his throws
•Can change arm angles to avoid deflections
•Has solid dropback footwork
•Very solid pocket movement and awareness
•Quick release
•Flashes of climbing pocket and reset pocket ability
Cons:
•Footwork can get messy
•Would like to see him climb the pocket more frequently rather than escape
•Occasionally steps out of his throws to avoid the hit
•He is best as a thrower when his feet are set and his footwork remains clean
•Isn’t amazing at resetting his feet for launch after being knocked off his spot from interior pressure
•Can become predictable always flushing to the outside of the pocket
Poise / Leadership / Toughness
Pros:
•Never had injury issues
•Had the worst defense in the SEC that averaged 33.8 points given up per game which is also one of - the worst in FBS
•Captain of his team
•Has multiple seasons of starting experience
Cons:
•23 years old is a little older than you would like
•Struggled in big game scenarios and sometimes throwing in the redzone
Games Watched:
•Week 3 vs MISS / Week 4 vs MEM / Week 5 vs ND / Week 7 vs TA&M / Week 8 vs AUB / Week 10 vs LSU /
Ideal Situation:
•Would operate best as a backup for 2 seasons before he could potentially make a splash when the right opportunity presents itself as a starter. For now, he could come in to run trick plays and certain sets to give the defense a different look. Green has huge upside because of his arm strength and athletic gifts. If the correct coaching staff can develop him, he can be a top-10 potential starter in the league. Best team fits would be the Commanders, Browns, Ravens, Bills, and Titans, or any team looking to add a spark to their offense.
