Ideal Situation:
•Micah Morris has a massive frame for the position, standing at 6’5”, 334lbs, massive hands, and almost 34-inch arms. He is built NFL-ready for the position. Morris is incredibly athletic for his size, and he displayed that at the NFL combine. Morris keeps a strong and wide base, strong grip strength, flashes of independent hand movement, and replaces his hands nicely. Morris seals off defenders very well, is really strong on combo blocks, and absorbs power well. Morris is very physical and loves to absolutely toss a LB or DB while in space. I can say with confidence that it is very entertaining to watch. Morris also possesses decent awareness and picks up stunts well. Micah Morris is also incredibly tough. He sustained minor injuries in games and would consistently play through those injuries from week to week. Morris does have his fair share of cons, including his inability to keep his feet moving after contact at times, plays way way way too high, can get outleveraged (because of how he plays), picked up some holding penalties, and turns his head to his left when there are present threats to his right at times. Morris was selected with the 207th pick in the 6th Round of the NFL Draft by the Philadelphia Eagles. He currently projects as the 3rd-string LG on the team, behind Michael Jordan, who played a ton of snaps last season. I think that Morris would be an upgrade especially in the run game after Saquon Barkley and that offense had a disappointing season on the ground. Landon Dickerson should be healthy this season, but I think Morris would be a better option for the Eagles if Dickerson continues to struggle with injuries. So, overall I love this pick and I think that Morris is an underrated player. It will be interesting to see how he develops, as longtime and legendary o-line coach Jeff Stoutland stepped down as the offensive line coach.
